Do You Know Your Mattress Size?

Knowing your mattress size is important for getting the bedding accessories that fit right.

For an accurate fit, follow the directions below for all Twin, Full, Queen, King, Dual Queen, Dual King, Split-top Queen, and Split-top King mattresses.

Mattress Formula

Width x Length x Depth

Tools Needed

  • Tape measure
  • Note pad
  • Pencil or pen

Procedure

Measure the Width:

  1. Place the tape measure at the side of the mattress and pull it width-wise straight across to the other side of the bed (do not measure diagonally)
  2. Round the measurement to the nearest inch
  3. Record the width

Measure the Length:

  1. Place the tape measure at the head of the mattress and pull it straight to the foot of the bed (do not measyre diagonally)
  2. Round the measurement to the nearest inch
  3. Record the length

Measure the Depth:

  1. Place your hand on the top of the mattress
  2. Place the end of the tape measure at the top of the box spring under the mattress
  3. Pull the tape measure up and read the measurement where the tape measure meets your hand on top of the mattress
  4. Round the measurement to the nearest inch
  5. Record the depth

Standard Pillow Sizes (Width x Length)*:

  • Standard Pillow: 21 inches x 32 inches
  • Queen Pillow: 21 inches x 35 inches
  • King Pillow: 21 inches x 38 inches

*The above measurements are for the pillowcase or pillow protector. Due to fill depth the actual pillow measurements will be less.
